Pour ma part, j'ai adoré jouer à ce jeu.. Il sonnait un peu comme une révolution technique à l'époque, très vif avec une magnifique bande son.
Enchaîner les niveaux était un plaisir, on ne se lassait pas d'essayer les différents scénarios correspondants aux différents personnages (Certains plus réu…
Premier vrai Sonic de plateforme en 3D, le gameplay à completement changé (3D oblige), le jeu est basé sur la vitesse est la plateforme avec Sonic, la course avec Tails, la course poursuite avec Amy, la recherche de trésor avec Knuckles, le "Beat'em all" avec Gamma et la pêche avec Big.

C'est le seul jeu Sonic qui est superbe sur 3D mais il y a quelque problèmes de caméra. Sinon l'idée d'insérer des animaux dans la carte mémoire que l'on a libéré pendant les niveaux n'est pas mal.
